Boost for Vauxhall Luton plant

Vauxhall's Luton plant, which makes commercial vehicles for Vauxhall and Renault, made a sizeable pre-tax profit in 2008 – providing a boost for the plant as Vauxhall restructures UK operations.
IBC Vehicles, a joint venture between Vauxhall and Renault, made a £27.3m pre-tax profit in 2008, according to the Daily Telegraph.
There was a three per cent increase in sales of vehicles made at the plant and an improvement in margins.
The Luton plant makes the Vauxhall Vivaro and Renault Trafic commercial vehicles, employing 1,500 staff.
Vauxhall also makes the all-new Astra at its Ellesmere Port plant in the UK.
