Vauxhall contributes to UK emissions drop

A study by DrivenData revealed that CO2 emissions have fallen by 5.6 per cent over the last 12 months, a figure no doubt boosted by Vauxhall’s ecoFLEX range.

This 5.6 per cent drop is the fastest progress made by carmakers in a 12-month period, according to the data experts, and is partly due to the influx of low CO2 models from brands like Vauxhall.

Every car in Vauxhall’s ever-growing portfolio is now available with an ecoFLEX badge, which promises optimum fuel economy and among the lowest CO2 emissions available.

The Corsavan ecoFLEX recently became the first Vauxhall van to feature Start/Stop technology, following in the footsteps of the hatchback model from which it is derived.

The introduction of the Ampera E-REV will too boost Vauxhall’s emissions drive, when it is released in two years time.

Vauxhall’s fleet average CO2 emissions stood at 143.67 after the first half of this year, a 6.29 per cent improvement on 2009. This means that the company is well on its way to meet the EU’s sub-130g/km regulation that comes into effect in 2012.

The Vauxhall Corsavan ecoFLEX is priced from £12,231.
