Vauxhall Corsavan wins 'small van' award

The Vauxhall Corsavan has been named best small van of 2012 by the experts at What Van?, it has been revealed.
The small panel van, a design based on the Vauxhall Corsa car, is one of the smallest vans on the market and took the award because of its low running costs.
The Vauxhall Corsavan comes with Vauxhall's new diesel 'Ecoflex' technology, itself a winner of the 'Green Award' at the prestigious van awards.
When used in the Vauxhall Corsavan, the Ecoflex engine, which offers more power matched to higher fuel economy, delivers CO2 emissions of 95g/km.
It also returns 78.3mpg on the combined cycle, making it one of the most fuel efficient vans in its class and one of the greenest in the UK.
This, says Vauxhall, is 'best-in-class' thanks to the use of energy-saving technology such as Start/Stop, which turns the engine off when the van is stationary in traffic.
The Vauxhall Corsavan Ecoflex comes with a 1.3-litre CDTi engine developing 97bhp. The turbo diesel engine is Euro 5 compliant, which means it meets stringent European emissions criteria for all new vans from 2012.
Praising the technology displayed in the Corsavan, What Van? Editor Paul Barker, said: "The progress made by the light commercial vehicle industry year after year is impressive and worthy of praise."
The Vauxhall Corsavan is priced at £11,593 for entry-level models before VAT, putting the starting price in the region of £15,000.
Vauxhall Corsavan Ecoflex versions cost around £16,000 including VAT. The Ecoflex technology is available across Vauxhall's van range and in most of its cars including the new Vauxhall Corsa and the Vauxhall Astra.
