Vauxhall finds Greenest Driver
Vauxhall’s hunt for the Greenest Driver come to an end last Saturday, as the winner of the ecoFLEX experience was announced in Malmo, Sweden.
Antonio Goncalves of Portugal was crowned the winner of the two-month long competition, which was initiated under the slogan ‘Green Driver: Wanted!’
70,000 European contestants were reduced to just 20 – one from each participating country. The 20 contestants met at the Sturup Raceway in Malmo on Saturday to compete in various eco-driving challenges.
“I definitely wanted to win because I wanted that Ampera" said Goncalves.
“That’s why my main focus was to drive as consistently as possible."
Second and third place went to Yakup Pelit from Denmark who won an Astra 1.3 CDTI ecoFLEX and Keijo Tapio Leppavuori from Finland who went home with a Corsa 1.3 CDTI ecoFLEX.
The Vauxhall Corsa and Astra are available now from £9,995 and £13,995 respectively. The Vauxhall Ampera is scheduled for a 2012 release, with further details and specifications expected to surface soon.
