Vauxhall goes to Fringe with Collective

The second event of this year’s Vauxhall Collective scheme will take place at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this weekend with Hannah Eidinow’s ‘The Great British Weekend...Are We Nearly There Yet?.’
Theatre practitioner and Vauxhall Collective winner Hannah Eidinow will stage a play that centres around the fictional character MP Philip Wilson and his family as they ‘try to escape it all’ by going to the seaside for a relaxing weekend.
As the family quarrels, disputes and stops at various locations, the audience will be transported through time from the 1940’s to present day. Ultimately, ‘the Wilson family invites the audience to question their own lives, and to think about the past and future.’
Vauxhall is committed to championing style and design in the UK; the Vauxhall Collective is evidence of this, as are the Art Car Boot Fair and Fashion Scout schemes.
Eidinow, along with the other creative’s included in this year’s Vauxhall Collective, was chosen by a panel of experts and given the use of the British-built Vauxhall Astra to aid preparations.
Eidinow’s take on The Great British Weekend will commence at 2pm on Saturday 28 August at The Mound, Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
