Vauxhall has teamed up with an 11 year old school pupil to design a new, fundraising t-shirt for the Help for Heroes charity.

The car maker has taken part in a number of fundraising events in 2011 for the charity, including the use of a Vauxhall Zafira and Vauxhall Vivaro van to help raise funds.

Now, 11 year old Bethany Banks has won a competition to design a t-shirt for Help for Heroes in order to raise money for those injured while serving in the armed forces.

Cheryl Stibbs, Vauxhall Programmes and Promotions Manager said, "We are really pleased with the success of this campaign and happy that Bethany's t-shirt has been produced and all proceeds of the limited edition bears will go to Help for Heroes."

The t-shirt bears the slogan 'a hero's friend' and beat over 500 other entries to become the chosen limited edition t-shirt.

Help for Heroes co-founder Emma Parry said: "Vauxhall's idea to run a competition for children to design a t-shirt for Hero Bear was a brilliant initiative and I was thrilled with the number of entries we received. It's an excellent way to raise necessary funds for Help for Heroes so that we can continue working to support our wounded."

Previously Vauxhall has supplied a Vauxhall Vivaro van to the Help for Heroes campaign as part of its fundraising events.

The van, which was decked out on unique livery, collected money from dealerships up and down the country as part of a fundraising effort earlier in the year.
