Vauxhall Van Research

Vauxhall Commercial Vehicles recently carried out a survey regarding vans and how they are perceived by the regular car driver. The results are remarkably positive and reflect the way vans have developed in recent years.

1,000 people who had recently hired a van, be it Vauxhall or otherwise, were surveyed, these people being occasional users, needing the larger load capacity for moving home or transporting large items. One of the biggest indicators of how well the van has developed is the 90% of respondents who were happy with the comfort and specification of the van they had used. Many Vauxhall vans now come fitted as standard with electric windows and air conditioning, matching the standards of cars.

The ease of driving new Vauxhall vans also appeared to be changing the way vans are seen, with 51% of people feeling no concern about driving them. An even higher percentage – 57% - were also happy parking them. This is one of the major concerns with vans so the improved designs to aid visibility and light steering are certainly helping Vauxhall van drivers out in the real world.

The Vauxhall Commercial Vehicles Brand Manager, Steve Bryant, was pleased with the findings, seeing the previous attitudes to vans evolving in line with the development work Vauxhall and other van manufacturers are putting in to make them as easy as possible to drive and use.
