Vauxhall vans win prestigious green award

Vauxhall has won a top green award for being the first van manufacturer in the UK to offer an eco option for its entire van range.
Vauxhall's Ecoflex diesel engines were first introduced to its cars to reduce running costs while still providing the same amount of power and performance as similar size, less efficient engines.
After extending the Ecoflex engines to the likes of the Vauxhall Corsavan, Vauxhall Astravan, Vauxhall Vivaro van and the large Vauxhall Movano van, the engines have been honoured with What Van?'s Green Award.
The annual award is designed to reward the best vans and van-related schemes in the UK by the industry-leading publication.
The Vauxhall Ecoflex range picked up the award because the engines drastically reduce fuel consumption and provide lower running costs for UK businesses who use the vans.
Vauxhall was also praised for ensuring all new Ecoflex vans in its range comply with upcoming European emissions laws (Euro 5) and all models will be exempt from charges in the new Low Emission Zone in London.
Paul Barker, What Van? Editor, said, "Vauxhall's impressive Ecoflex technology and efforts to show exactly which are the most efficient models help operators save fuel and therefore money."
The Ecoflex name is used to identify the greenest vans in each of the Vauxhall ranges, many of which are the best performing vans in their class in terms of emissions and fuel economy.
Vauxhall has also confirmed there will be an Ecoflex version of the new 2012 Vauxhall Combo available when the van is launched in 2012.
The Vauxhall Combo will fill the gap in Vauxhall's range between the compact Astravan and the medium-size, British-based Vauxhall Vivaro.
