Vauxhall Zafira in most reliable cars list

A used Vauxhall Zafira has been named as one of the most reliable cars on the road - despite being ten years old.
The Vauxhall Zafira, built between 1999 and 2005, has been named as one of ten cars which are described as 'Peter Pan cars' by insurance specialist Warranty Direct.
It claims some older cars are actually more reliable than newer models with the Vauxhall Zafira delivering a 27 per cent chance of failure.
And, like the boy who never wanted to grow old, a used Vauxhall Zafira could offer reliability for several years after it should have 'grown old', says the company.
In comparison, only two other ten-year-old cars have a smaller chance of breaking down on the road, making a seven-seat used Vauxhall Zafira a good choice for used car buyers.
Warranty Direct managing director, Duncan McClure Fisher, said: "Our analysis shows that new doesn't necessarily mean more reliable. We also found that repair costs are often higher for new models so, as well as paying over the odds for a new car, you may also be opening yourself up to additional, unwanted costs."
The Vauxhall Zafira was praised for the reliability of its electric systems, a common source of worry on newer cars as more new technology is added by car makers.
Fisher added: "Buying new may be the most desirable option when it comes to purchasing a car but it isn't always the most cost-effective route."
The current generation Vauxhall Zafira is priced from £18,560. A new Vauxhall Zafira Tourer is available alongside the older model priced from £21,000.
