Vauxhall Insignia Saloon (2009 On)

Vauxhall Insignia Saloon (2009 On) Performance

The Vauxhall Insignia Saloon has seven engine options to choose from, three diesel and four petrol, allowing the range to cater for many different needs. Considering the fact that the Insignia is a major fleet market choice this variety is essential. The diesel engines always prove popular in the company car environment, helped by good fuel consumption figures and attractive tax bandings.Considering the different engines the 130PS and 160PS diesels are more than capable on the motorway, with overtaking power available when needed. However the 2.0 petrol, with turbo, is perhaps the best of the bunch. It has plenty of power for cruising and overtaking but also has a sharper response which works well on A and B roads.

Vauxhall Insignia Saloon (2009 On) Driving

Designed to spend most of its time on the motorway the Insignia Saloon feels very comfortable there. The ride is smooth and stable, leaving driver and passenger relaxed after a long journey. Heading off the motorway some models of the Insignia benefit from the Sport switch, which modifies the suspension settings, making them firmer. This minimises body roll in the corners and gives the car a more responsive feel to the steering.

Aimed at a wide range of drivers the Insignia Saloon caters for them with a variety of model types, each being differentiated by specification. Even the entry level car is fitted as standard with electric windows, climate and cruise control, with other models in the range adding to the list of standard equipment. All models in the Insignia range are very well equipped, with all drivers and passengers enjoying excellent levels of comfort and refinement.

The Insignia Saloon has been designed very much with the needs of driver and passenger in mind, so there are a variety of storage areas around the vehicle. The boot is also an excellent size, capable of taking a large amount of luggage, while the rear seat also folds down if needed. Space within the car is very good too, with plenty of room for both front and rear occupants.

Vauxhall Insignia Saloon (2009 On) Quality

Quality is essential in this sector of the market, being a major consideration for both drivers and fleet managers. They will not be disappointed though since the Insignia Saloon is very well designed and made. Vauxhall invested a lot of time and effort into the design of the Insignia and this has paid off with everything seeming to be in just the right place. They also appear to have used good quality materials and components throughout, again reinforcing the quality feel to the car.

Vauxhall Insignia Saloon (2009 On) Safety

With safety being a key issue for everyone the Vauxhall Insignia Saloon is laden with safety features, including six airbags as standard, the Vauxhall Electronic Stability Programme, traction control, ABS and ISOFIX childseat fixings. The car goes on to also provide headlamps with nine different settings dependent on the prevailing environment and also which follow the direction of the front wheels, enabling the driver to see deeper into corners. All these have combined to earn the Insignia Saloon the maximum five star rating from Euro NCAP.
